Hi there!
I’m Emily, a New Jersey native that now lives in Texas with my loving husband, daughter, and two sons. I’m painting the world with one good eye and a cup of coffee in hand.
One good eye? I was born with a dermoid on the bottom edge of my left cornea. I had it removed when I was just an infant, which involved a minor cornea transplant and five other surgeries.
Since then, I’ve been wearing glasses starting at just a year and a half. From the surgeries, I only have partial vision in my left eye and it’s mostly peripheral. My eyes trained themselves to primarily use the right one.
I have been creating art for as long as I can remember. I remember watching my mother paint on our screened-in porch at an early age and remembering wanting to do exactly that when I grew older.
After college, I worked in the fashion industry, in visuals and management. I worked for companies such as Anthropologie and J.Crew. Now, my days consist of juggling three toddlers, painting when I have a free moment, always searching for the perfect outfit, and re-heating the same cup of coffee, over and over and over.
